This rugged "ranch
house", playhouse with its cedar board and batten construction, is modeled
after the frontier homes of the Texas Hill Country.
With proper care, "The Ranch House" can become an heirloom that brings joy to your children- and later on to their children and grandchildren. The size of "The Ranch House" is approximately 6' x 10', and a 3' x 10' covered porch extends along the entire front of the building. The maximum height inside is almost 7'. This provides a large open area, both inside and outside. The roof of "The Ranch House" playhouse has two gables and is covered with high-quality 20-year composition shingles. The interior floor is covered with sheet vinyl for easy cleaning. "The Ranch House" playhouse includes six windows that are equipped with shutters that open to the outside. The shutters latch securely when closed for protection from weather and animals. "The Ranch House" playhouse has front and back doors The front door opens inward and the back opens outward. Each door has a handle and a sliding bar to hold the door closed. The doors are fitted with adjustable spring hinges to permit them to close automatically. |

The trim and finish of each "Ranch House" playhouse is unique. Optional

is available to complete the interior decor, and a child-sized, old-fashioned
swing
hanging from a convenient nearby limb can extend the play space to the

"The Ranch House" playhouse is very substantial. The completed playhouse normally weighs between 1,500 and 2,000 pounds. With appropriate maintenance and care, "The Ranch House" playhouse can become a heirloom that is passed from generation to generation. "The Ranch House" playhouse is not normally painted, and the cedar is allowed to weather to an attractive silver-white rustic color. Optionally, "The Ranch House" may be sealed with a clear stain to retain the original color of the wood. The roof color is normally "weathered wood" to simulate the color of the weathered cedar shingles found on many of the original frontier cabins. |

The "Ranch House" playhouse may be permanently installed on a small concrete
slab or on concrete piers. Concrete blocks may be used if the site is
level and if soil, drainage, and weather conditions permit, but direct
contact with the ground is not recommended.

When a "Ranch House" playhouse is ordered, the trim and finish details are
discussed and exterior drawings are prepared. Then the playhouse is
constructed as a completed unit at the Carpenter's Shop facilities.
Construction takes approximately six weeks.
The Carpenter's Shop facilities are located near Boerne, Texas, approximately 30 miles north of San Antonio. The Carpenter's Shop can deliver The "Ranch House" playhouse to locations within 500 miles of its facilities. Delivery beyond that distance can be arranged through a trucking company. Relatively level and open access to the site with horizontal clearance of 8-1/2 feet and vertical clearance of 9-1/2 feet is required.
