DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION
The prices of the Carpenter's Shop playhouses are FOB our facilities near Boerne, Texas. Some customers have elected to come to our facilities, pick up their playhouses, transport them on suitable trailers, and install them at their final locations. However, it is important to realize that the Carpenter's Shop playhouses are quite substantial and normally weigh between 1,200 and 4,000 pounds. Therefore, moving and installing a playhouse should be done with care.
The Carpenter's Shop facilities are located near Boerne, Texas, approximately
30 miles north of San Antonio. We can deliver playhouses to locations
within 500 miles of our facilities. Deliveries beyond that distance can be
arranged through a trucking company.
The Carpenter's Shop playhouses are normally transported on a trailer that has been specially adapted for delivering playhouses. Relatively level and open access to the site is required so that the trailer and playhouse can be positioned close to the desired location. For most playhouse models, a minimum horizontal clearance of 8-1/2 feet and vertical clearance of 7-1/2 feet is required. Playhouse models with lofts or very steep roofs may require greater vertical clearance. |

Delivery and installation charges are based on the size of the playhouse, the mileage to the site, and the particular characteristics of the final location. Within 70 miles of the Carpenter's Shop facilities near Boerne, Texas, a minimum delivery and installation charge of $175.00 applies. Distances beyond 70 miles are subject to an additional charge per-mile (one way). |

For deliveries beyond 500 miles from our facilities, the playhouses must be shipped by motor freight on a flatbed truck, and the shipping costs are determined by the freight company. We make arrangements for the shipping as part of our service, but normally ask that the customer pay the freight company directly for the shipping costs. When the playhouse is delivered on a flatbed truck, the customer must make arrangements to offload the playhouse and install it. This normally requires a large forklift capable of lifting 2,000 to 4,000 pounds, depending on the playhouse model. If access permits, the forklift can move the playhouse to its final position. However if there are major structural or landscape impediments, a crane may be required. Relocating a playhouse after it has been installed is pretty much the reverse of the installation process described above. Generally, the playhouse is raised off of its foundation blocks, either with small automotive hydraulic floor jacks or an iron bar used as a lever. The blocks are removed, and the playhouse is pulled onto a suitable trailer using a wench. If a flatbed truck is used to move the playhouse, a forklift is generally required to lift the playhouse onto the truck. When the playhouse arrives at its new location, the installation process is repeated. |

The playhouse is driven to the site and the trailer is positioned as close as possible to the
final location. Then the playhouse is put on the ground and moved to its final position.
When the playhouse has been positioned, it is normally placed on concrete blocks and leveled.
Concrete blocks are used for the foundation at most sites so that the playhouse can be easily
leveled and shimmed in the future if the ground shifts or settles.
Alternatively, the playhouse
may be installed on a concrete slab, piers, or any other suitable foundation. However,
direct contact with the ground is not recommended.
